SOBREMESA: TIME AFTER THE MEAL, ENJOYING BEING WITH FRIENDS.

In honor of Cafe Con Leche's Latino Resident Artist Program at Most Wanted Fine Art, Cafe Con Leche is hosting a supper club. Sobremesa will give guests an intimate opportunity to meet each of Cafe Con Leche’s resident artists while enjoying traditional Puerto Rican food. Your donation gets you a share of a twenty person dinner; all dinners include an appetizer, entree with side dishes, dessert and beverages.

What is a supper club? Opening up your home to share cooking traditions, friendship and laughter. Cafe Con Leche wanted to welcome our Latino Resident Artists to Pittsburgh in the best way we know how - good Puerto Rican food and great company.

What does SOMBREMESA mean? Perhaps not an exact translation for Supper Club, SOBREMESA is a tradition common in Spain and throughout Latin America where after a delicious meal friends sit around the table sharing, laughing and enjoying each other's company and conversation.

What are the dates of the dinners? Saturday evenings: March 12th, April 16th, May 14th, June 11th, July 9th, August 13th.

Is there going to be entertainment? Yes. Not only will you have an opportunity to get view the resident artist's work while getting to know them on a personal level, you will be treated to live entertainment.

What time is the event? Doors will open at 6pm and should be wrapping up by 9 or 10pm depending on how the conversation is flowing. We are asking guests to come on time. Not early, as we will still be cooking and setting up the room to be just perfect. Not late, as you will miss all the appetizers and pre-dinner fun.

Prices: There are a limited amount of seats available - reserve your spot early! A $400 donation will get you one share of a twenty person dinner for the entire series (six dinners) as well as a special delicious dish. A $75 donation gets you one share of a twenty person dinner for one evening.

Will guests eat at the same table? Yes. In the spirit of family style dinners, everyone will sit at the same table and pass dishes back and forth. Depending on what is being served, some dishes may be set up on a side table. Just like at your abuela's house, there will be no professional waitstaff - mi casa es su casa, so enjoy.

Is it BYOB? Cafe Con Leche will serve water, coffee and some special libations that match the theme of the meal. You are welcome to bring wine if you have a bottle you’d like to share.

Are you able to accommodate special diets? If you have special dietary requirements, get in touch before you buy a ticket. Some menus just don’t lend themselves to different interpretations, especially at the last minute, but we will do our best.

Do I need to tip the chef or bring a host gift? Donations to Cafe Con Leche beyond the one you gave to attend the dinner are welcome! As for gifts, as I said before, feel free to bring a favorite bottle of wine or other beverage to share. But no pressure for either - we are here to serve you!

Should I get dressed up? Wear what you like. Be comfortable. Remember you will be in the company of friends for the evening, so wear something you feel good in.

Cafe Con Leche looks forward to hosting you for this one of kind Pittsburgh experience!
