August is your last chance to meet one Cafe Con Leche's Resident Artists, it also marks the end of our 2016 event season. Make sure to check out one of the artist events below! Pellizas are a traditional hand woven rag rug from the Dominican Republic. As a part of the Cafe Con Leche Resident Artist program, Gina will be setting up shop in the lobby of The Ace Hotel, 120 S. Whitfield St. East Liberty 15206, from August 1st to August 6th. She is making a Pelliza special for Pittsburgh! This is a participatory art project, we encourage people from all ages and abilities to join Gina.

Ace Hotel Pittsburgh will be accepting donated materials for this residency now until August 2 at the front desk. These fabrics should be simple and easy to rip, including anything from bed sheets to tents and t-shirts.
Boris Balsindes Urquiola
Boris is a young highly creative, multifaceted Afro-Cuban artist that is experienced in theater, music, photography and film productions. He arrived to the United States in October 2015 with the dream of sharing his culture and furthering his education in theater and Africana Studies. His life experience growing up in Cuba are an integral part of who he is as an artist and producer. Boris blends his multicultural, multilinigual, multicolor sounds and visuals into experiences of a Cuba we think we know, into a Cuba he knows very well.
